Raphael Jost Quintet
He is a singer and pianist, songwriter and arranger and has already received the Swiss Jazz Award for his debut album - Raphael Jost is a multi-talent. He surprises with his powerful, warm voice and moves lightly between jazz and pop.
Jost sees himself as a modern crooner. His own songs are snapshots of his life, catchy, but always cleverly arranged. Together with his rhythm section he also shares the great passion for playing standards. This in a way that is probably rather atypical these days - with an energetic swing feel and lively interplay. There is never too little room for improvisation - both in the trio and in the quintet, in which the two outstanding soloists Christoph Grab on tenor sax and Lukas Thöni on trumpet help shape the sound at the forefront.
